“Today words of wisdom - Life is a journey, when we start it we never know where it ends, are we supposed to go in a straight line and miss all the maybes of happiness, excitement, adventure, disappointments regrets, sadness and go straight to go, or are we supposed to go left and right and test all the ports of call, knowing that once we reach the end of our life’s journey that we left no stone unturned. Life is what we make it.”

Next stop the beach
As the sunset over the ridge and the twilight sky was shooting rays of sunburnt orange across the escarpment.
There you stood surround by the glowing majestic beams of the setting sun, your smile beaming as bright as the sun itself.
As the bus doors open the sunburnt sky accents the wisps of your strawberry blonde hair swirling in the light breeze.
As you entered the bus, I suddenly felt alive, your presence filling this hollow metallic shell on wheels with your essence of life, creativity and positivity.
You sat behind me, We chatted over the clatter about your journey, you were longing for more, but you bought my journey to life.
Your ambitions were out of reach but your determination and dreams were coming alive, you were grasping for a new moment and path in life.
As we drove into the setting sun I was caught in the middle of the radiant glow of you both.
I could not escape, i never wanted the journey to end, I was captivated, but I knew I was driving to a guaranteed end.
We reached the last stop, the beach, all stood still for me, as I pulled the park brake on, the bus snorting at my fear, I realized I may never see you again.
I hesitated in pushing that illuminous button to part the doors to allow you to depart this journey.
The hiss of air escaped as the doors parted, as you tapped off with your bee card the sharp beep was like a loud reminder to me of you intimate departure.
You turned and smiled, reminding me what I was going to miss, you thanked me, I said goodbye.
This was a moment I would not forget.
You strode off in front of me your wisps of wild but tamed strawberry blonde hair flowing and twisting in the wind.
You were most likely thinking of your next batch of jam filled with passion and sweet nectar. While I was left wondering who was she.
Your slender silhouette disappearing in the shadows between the abundant and laden apple trees as you strode towards golden sands of the beach.
Now I wonder and dream every time I drive to the beach, and stop, and look between the laden apple trees, over the beach for any sign of the beauty that was bestowed upon me.
Will I ever see that beaming smile appear from the golden sands of the beach wandering between the apple trees to part my doors and bring life to my day again.
As Dawn Breaks
As the morning sun rises into the east pushing the darkness towards the west. shadows will appear where once were just silhouettes.
Shadows will start to form as the silhouettes dissolve into the light
As you start your uphill journey on the dark path to your destination. The sun rises over the hills creating your beautiful silhouette against the magnificent backdrop of the mountain escarpment.
As you climb towards the glowing amber lights of your favorite number one the sun breaks over the mountain ridges casting an array of red and orange highlights across the sky.
The magnificent Remarkable‘s just a large black silhouette against the backdrop of the vast dwindling night sky the snowy peaks catching the palette of reds and oranges, glowing as if they’re alight with the only ash being the fleeing night sky.
Your silhouette grows closer, the new breaking light capturing your form against the majestic backdrop. I notice the wind catching wisps of your jet black hair accentuating your silhouette. You appear out of the darkness dress so eloquently in this winter morning.
As you step closer the headlights of number one suddenly surround your form and bring your shapely silhouette to life. Your scarf wrapped around your neck and tucked neatly into your jacket, your headphones tightly over your ears to keep them warm as you listen to your favorite tunes.
The bus doors part with a hiss, you step aboard, your grace and elegance poised for the journey ahead your smile envelopes and surrounds the hollow inside, bringing warmth to the inside of this metallic shell on this chilly morning. The driver understands why he got out of bed to capture this moment.
You take a seat preparing yourself for the journey ahead that is about to begin. Your beaming eyes and smile captured in the drivers mirror as you sit and adjust your headphones and get lost in your tunes.
As you sit there and ponder of the day ahead or plan your next trivia event the journey continues. People come and go you do not seem to flicker those long eye lash’s as you watch everybody coming and going.
As the bus reaches your final destination, the buzzer sounds breaking the silence, the bus rolls into your final stop. You rise to leave, ready to start your day ahead, ready to take on what challenges the day may bring. As you depart you look up you catch the drivers glance in the mirror. You give a small wave and large smile, then like the night sky you disappear into the light. But as you exit, you know tomorrow the journey will start again.
Yellow said it all
With the bright lights, yellow dress, like rays of the Sun
It was thought to be an everlasting smile
No words were needed, it was confidence while captivating
That beautiful dress was never expected to fade my memory
How alluring you were
Together, we were to create our fantasy
Never-ending, in travel, joy and laughter
Forever, walking in the same pace of the different roads
All but foolish hopes of fantasy
Never to be fulfilled
Dreams are meant to die
It is among reality and virtuality
Finally realised, it is unavoidable
Without considering one’s own silly wish
It was to never wither away
With certainty, we were to part
Together no more, our friendship was virtual
It is harsh, though it is the truth
Falling to sleep wondering what dance you are preforming
Waking up with salsa tunes in the heart,
It is all a distant memory, but not gone forever
Only until the understanding came to mind
It’s not about your captivating presence, but its legacy
The delighting dress of yellow that once brightened up my day
The graceful posts of beauty that created my smiles
The tasteful form of your silhouetted body
Your lovely smile that soothed one’s heart
Nothing has changed
The things you left,
The words you said,
The memories we had,
No one was to take them away from me
We are friends forever
It’s a promise, until we dance.
MODERN DAY UNICORN
I am a modern day unicorn. No, I am not the mystical, colourful horse with a large horn. I am a person, I could be any gender of any age, but this modern day unicorn is a female in her twenty’s.
As a modern day unicorn, some say I am greedy, confused, innocent, oblivious but I say I am lucky. I have two lovers, I have two best friends, I have two travel companions, I am having twice the fun.
A modern day unicorn is normally the third person in a couple’s relationship. The couple can be any combination of genders, two females, two males, old or young it is a very broad spectrum, there is no set rules, my couple is a mature couple, male and female.
He is handsome with a peppered trimmed beard, joker, inspirational and creator. She is stunning, spiritual, very proud with a beautiful heart.
I may be young, but I enjoy the experience and wealth of knowledge they both bring to my daily life, the opportunity of travel and the adventures we share in and outside the lair.
They do not close me off from the rest of the world and they are there to share my excitement if somebody appeals to me, they are always by my side sharing the positives and negatives of life’s journey.
Being a young unicorn my couple is like my father and mother, I can learn and gather from their wisdom. They are also my brother and sister as we share adventures, road trips and share my good and bad moments, I can share everything with them. And they are my boyfriend and girlfriend, we can share our passion together and separately. How lucky I am to have all this in one.
When we go out together people look at me as their daughter, she loves holding my hand and sometimes he holds both our hands and we walk down the path as we own it. When I go out with just him they see me as a mistress and think wow he is so lucky. We consume a beer or wine and he discusses his new ideas or the next adventure, he listens to my modern ideas.
When I am with her, I feel so lucky to hold her hand and window shop, try on clothes and tease each other with our bodies, do our daily yoga routine or sip on lattes while consuming a warm croissant together discussing life, friends and what we will wear to our next outing.
At home we share the duties, we dine and wine together, we laugh and share movies. Sometimes we just want our own space, sometimes we just want to wake up alone. He is on the computer creating the next business idea or in the garden getting ready for the next BBQ. When us girls are alone we love to listen to music, practice our yoga together, or swap clothes and share stories in the bedroom. These little moments are the ones I live for, that make me proud and lucky to be their modern day unicorn.
For today I am a unicorn and tomorrow I may find someone just for me but for now, I am lucky to be a modern day unicorn.

My Xmas Tree Ode
As I trundled down the road lost in my own thoughts there you stood, tall and proud.
I have been here before once or twice a day for weeks gone past, why have I never seen you before.
You were naked, only the sparse alpine pine needles covering your mass. There was no glitter, no star, no tinsel or sparkling balls to jump at me, but you did.
I was captivated by your beauty, you were homeless and you were begging to find a home to create new memories for this Xmas and be decorated with all the glamour.
I thought it would not be possible, I am the Xmas grinch I did not need a tree, I have no time for such foolish things.
As the day passed and the wind blew through your needles, I knew what I had to do as tomorrow was the eve of Xmas. I set my alarm early so I could be the first one in the door. I fell asleep dreaming of your presence lighting up my room.
I arose early on the eve of Xmas, racing down the road to see if you were still there. I was 10 min early when I saw there was two of you, but the other looked nothing like you, the other had a sign in its needles saying not for sale, display only. I felt like a fool, of course, you are a display, I nearly turned and run for being a fool and dreaming of what could not been.
As the doors opened I was by your side, your trunk was a golden tan, your branches were strong like none I had seen. You were heavy, you were from before my time and before the time of plastic and China imports. You were graceful and strong. I could tell you were part of many happy and sad memories. My eyes opened wide as I saw the sign, box in the other room. My heart raced as this was a sign, as I looked further there I saw deep in your needles, the small tag saying you were for me.
I needed to dress you up and make you the proud tree you once were. I searched the store high and low for things to make you beam. I was about to give up when I saw under a table a basket with the most beautiful and perfect star. It was a sign as it was a star from before my time.
How you stand tall and proud, dressed to impress the glamour and sparkle to outdo any runway model, surrounded in lights that can be seen from above, the perfect star at your tip-off your presence.
You have lived for another Xmas to continue making memories for loved ones and families to come.
